Practice History

Coulson Swinburne & Partners was established in 1968 by Jim Coulson and Brian Swinburne, both graduates of Newcastle University.  Will Moses, a graduate of Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, previously with Faulknerbrowns and Jowett Buckley and Curry, joined as a Partner in 1996.  The Practice became known as Coulson Swinburne Moses

Neil Atkinson started his career at Jowett Buckley and Curry in 1986 acquiring sole ownership in 2005 and re-naming the Practice JBC Associates.  The Practice had built up an extensive experience in hospital work with specialist expertise in cancer treatment and diagnostic imaging installation

Neil and Will began to collaborate on projects and the two Practices merged in 2007 as CSM+Architects, expanding in 2011 to include a branch office in North Yorkshire.  Chris Gair became a Partner in 2016
