CSM+ Launch Age UK Newcastle "Bobble Day" Appeal

2013

Ouseburn-based CSM+ Architects have become one of the first companies to donate to Age UK Newcastle's Bobble Day Appeal to help keep older people warm and well during the winter weather in Newcastle. Will Moses of CSM+ with several members of his Newcastle team and Marie Harris from their Knaresbrough office, together with Bryan Watson of J3 Building Solutions Ltd, made the donation at the practice’s Ouseburn office to Sonia Graham, Campaigns and Fundraising Co-ordinator of Age UK Newcastle

Sonia commented, "Bobble Day on February 7 aims to raise awareness and money to make winter warmer by keeping older people warm and safe and by offering free information and advice. Local businesses and groups are getting involved by wearing woolly jumpers, hats and the campaign’s fluffy pin ‘bobbles’ for work, as they take part in fundraising activities such as bake sales, raffles and worst woolly competitions."

"Money raised goes towards supporting older people who are more vulnerable to the effects of the cold weather. In our region alone, as many as one million older people become isolated and lonely, confined to their homes by the winter weather, with an increasing number struggling to cope with rising energy costs."

Will Moses added, "We're delighted to be able to help with such a good cause - it's cold working on building sites at this time of year in any case so it didn't take us long to persuade everyone to wear something woolly to raise money for the charity!"
